Hello everybody!
We just returned from our first missions trip for the year. Again, it was a life changing experience. AND, I'm extremely excited for our 'blue prints' for a successful, eye-opening, life-changing missions trip. We held 3 days of dental clinics completing fillings, extractions, root canals and constructing DENTURES, built and finished an entire house from scratch - yes, from scratch, visited and worked along side a community that finds its food, income and treasure from a garbage dump, served a community of very impoverished people lunch, their only meal of the day, hosted a 3 day pastor's conference and a 3 night crusade. All in ONE WEEK!
Yesterday we had our final debriefing at our home and the testimonials of the trip were the best we've ever received. One of the most rewarding moments that we unanimously agreed upon, was when we handed over the keys to the house to the father of the family. There wasn't a dry eye on the entire street!
So, we are in the midst of planning our NEXT THREE TRIPS so that those of you that need a year or so to plan, can do so. Here are the dates for the next three trips to the Dominican Republic:
1. May 14th - 21st
2. October 22nd - 29th
3. January 29th - February 4th
Shine the Light Ministries
Shine the Light Ministries is a registered not for profit organization. Unlike most charitable organizations, Shine the Light has NO ONE on salary, nor is anyone paid to work for our organization. There are no employees, only willing volunteers. All monies raised are for the express purpose of transporting our volunteers to the villages in need, for medical equipment and needed supplies, and for donations to our partner charities. We will gladly issue you an official tax receipt for any yearly donations of $20 or more.
